Back to School Felt Pencil Pouch
What this month's class is about: For August, kids will sew their very own felt pencil pouch just in time for back to school. Each child will choose from a variety of colored felts and embroidery thread to stitch their pouch together, embroider their first initial, and button it closed — leaving with something handmade and actually useful for the new school year. This is a fully guided, step-by-step sewing class using large embroidery needles (so not as sharp), with hands-on support throughout. More advanced sewers will have the chance to add extra embroidery details if time allows.
Age Group: Ages 5 and up (through 4th Grade)
A Note for Parents: This class involves hand sewing with large embroidery needles and requires a moderate level of fine motor skill. While Cami will provide step-by-step guidance and support throughout, this may not be the best fit for children on the younger end who are still developing their motor skills — and that is completely okay! If you're unsure, our no-sew classes like the Sock Monkey class are a wonderful alternative that are just as fun and creative. Ultimately, you know your child best, and we trust you to gauge whether this is the right fit. All skill levels are welcome, just know that some independent hand control will be needed to get the most out of this one.
Class Duration: 1.5 hours: Drop off/Pick up only
Location: Palms, West LA – Outdoor backyard craft setup (address provided after enrollment)
Date & Time: Monday, August 10th, 2026 — 12:00–1:30 PM Arrive 10 minutes early for seating + kindness rules
Class Size: Maximum 8 students

Safety Notes Large embroidery needles are used in this class under close supervision. A bathroom buddy system is in place, and all tools are guided by the instructor. Creating with Cami is fully background checked, with CPR/First Aid certification in progress.
